ACC Ltd also known as The Associated Cement Companies Limited, is one of the major cement producing companies in India. The registered office of the ACC ltd  known as the Cement House which is situated in Maharishi Karve Road, Mumbai. Eco Friendly systems are widely used by the company for the purpose of environment protection. ACC Ltd is the most favored brand name in India.

History

The company was established in the year 1936. The cement companies like Tatas, Khataus, Killick Nixon and F E Dinshaw groups amalgamated to form the ACC Ltd. Mr.Nowroji B Saklatvala was the first chairman of this company. The early Board of Directors included J R D Tata, Ambalal Sarabhai, Walchand Hirachand, Dharamsey Khatau, Sir Akbar Hydrai, Nawab Salar Jung and Sir Homy Mody. Chaibasa in Bihar had seen the development of the first completely home-grown cement plant in India. The company had received National award for rural and agricultural development activities in the year 1976. Years later they were selected by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Good Corporate Citizen Award. Later on, much recognition of achievements was received by the company. These prizes became the identity of their excellence.

Mr. N S Sekhsaria is the Chairman of the ACC Limited, played a vital role in the growth of the company.

Mr. Paul Hugentobler holds the position of Deputy Chairman. Before joining ACC he worked for many other cement companies like Siam City Cement and Holcim Ltd

Mr. Kuldip Kaura is the Chief Executive Officer of the ACC Limited since August 13, 2010.

ACC’s activities are found in many parts of the country with 14 modern cement factories, 30 ready mix concrete plant, 20 sales offices and several zonal offices. About 10,000 workers are there in the labor force of the company and have got 9000 dealers all around India for the distribution of their product. The total earning of the company for the year 2011 was Rupees 98000 Million approximately. The key goal of the company is to meet the current needs without compromising the future requirements. The company gives equal importance for safety and development. Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) is an important ingredient of the company’s expedition towards its success. This company is the largest user of limestone and coal in India. For the transportation of their products they widely use the Road Transportation Network. ACC has always made good quality products and services which have led to the nation’s development.
